R.I.P. Johnie Kirton 1986-2012

05/29/12 By Think Tank Productions

We want to say goodbye to a great friend and Husky standout, Johnie Kirton, who passed away this Monday at the age of 26. Kirton was from Everett, Washington where he went on to star at Jackson High. He was named state high school player of the year in 2003 by both Gatorade and the Associated Press. He played fullback, tight end, and defensive line for the Huskies from 2004-2008, but will be a Husky forever. Kirton was most recently with the San Jose SabreCats of the AFL and scored the game winning touchdown for them this past Saturday night. Our thoughts and prayers are with Johnie’s family and friends.

Warren Moon Wards Off Head Injuries

05/25/12 By Think Tank Productions

With all the commotion surrounding the safety of head to head hits in the world of football, Husky Legend Warren Moon is taking a stand by promoting a new line of helmets that could hopefully make a huge impact on the safety of players.

“Moon is pitching a high-tech helmet that might reduce head trauma and help prevent the debilitating effects of diseases such as Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy, which studies seem to indicate could have linkage to repeated head blows.”

Who better to help design a safe helmet than Pro Football Hall of Famer Warren Moon!

Brostek Chosen for Hawai’i Hall of Honor

05/23/12 By Think Tank Productions

Shane Brostek, one of our 2012 signees, and esteemed offensive lineman out of Hawai’i Preparatory Academy in Kamuela, Hawai’i, was honored by the Hawai’i Hall of Honor this past week.  The Hawai’i High School Hall of Honor was established in 1982 to recognize athletic excellence and achievements of Hawai’i's high school athletes, and each year they choose 12 athletes that display these traits.  We’re very proud of Shane and can’t wait for him to get to Seattle and begin his career as a Husky. Congratulations Shane!
