The Huskies finally got to play football last night against the San Diego State Aztecs at CenturyLink Field. As the Dawgs took the field, there was a sense of urgency and authentic excitement about the team. There was a true appreciation for the opportunity they had in front of them. Coach Sark talks about the importance of playing with energy and amazing effort. Time and time again he will refer to that as being one of the important keys to success on the football field. From Saturday’s game you could tell that the team heard and implemented that message into their style of play.
There were times in Saturday’s contest when things didn’t bounce the Huskies’ way. That did not take away from the team’s focus. Through the sideline disposition and the way the players performed, they were more concerned with the “Next Snap,” as opposed to what had just happened.
“It is nice to be 1 and 0, and there are things we can learn from this game,” said Coach Sark. “Everyone has things to work on and the good news is we can learn and get better from here.” The Huskies take on the LSU Tigers next Saturday in their first road test of the 2012 season.
