Turnover Wednesday

09/24/12 By Think Tank Productions

We have already established that Husky Football’s week is not matching up to the conventional calendar given that the game is on Thursday. Instead of the typical “Tell the Truth Monday,” today is “Turnover Wednesday,” giving the team a day to focus on the turnover battle each week. So far through the first three games the Dawgs are winning the turnover battle 6 to 3.

One thing did remain though: Coach Sark’s Monday press conference. Coach Sark was able to share some news with the media on a different kind of turnover, as the University of Washington returned from summer break to start the new quarter. He was asked whether the new school year will provide a challenge for the team this deep into the season. Coach Sark explained that the team is well prepared for the shift to full class-loads and early practices because the format is not deviating much for the players. In Spring Practice, the players were accustomed to the same format as now, and over Fall Camp, the team had early walk-thru to condition the players to the structure of practice during the season. Another added bonus of the school year is that more students are on campus and in the area, leading to a more intense atmosphere at the games. This influx is coming at a perfect time with Stanford and the Blackout of the Century Thursday, September 27, 2012.
