Sunday Conversation

College football is difficult, as is any worthwhile endeavor. In order for a team to be successful they must pick themselves up, and respond immediately to getting knocked down. The Dawgs have picked themselves up before, and will again. It is what good teams do. The Huskies lost a tough one in Eugene last night, a game that the whole team would love to have back. Unfortunately, college football does not work that way.

There are no do-overs, no mulligans, no extra quarters. Preparations for the next opponent start as soon as the locker room empties after a game. The team has already gone through meetings and is moments away from taking the field for a Sunday run-through.

“We have got to pick ourselves up and get ready to play,” said Coach Sark.  ”There is no time to dwell, we will clean up our mistakes and move on. That is football.”

The Dawgs will be back in action at CenturyLink Field this Saturday at 4pm to take on Southern California.

My prediction: the fans will be even more involved than the Stanford game. Last time SC was in Seattle, they were ranked #3, we were at the lowest point in Husky Football history. We didn’t stand a chance to win … That afternoon was one of the greatest moments in my humble opinion. Years of disappointment forgotten with one victory over USC, finally their band was silenced!
